Final Piece #4 Image

For my 4th final piece, I decided to scrap my original idea for a fourth final image, which was flowers. I did not like how it was turning out, so I decided to use a human form, as part of my last final. It continues with the theme of natural elements, because the human figure is a natural element after all, and is biological.

I took some inspiration from the artist James Jean, in terms of using bright vivid colours. You can see this on the figure's clothes. I also took inspiration from the artist Greg Guillemin.
. I took some inspiration though his 'flat' visual 2d style in the sample artwork that I placed in his research. You can find the link to his research here.

Final Piece #3 Image

This is the final outcome of my illustration of a tree, as part of my 4 digital final pieces.

You can find the step by step process, here at this link > https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=6973146728022153024#editor/target=post;postID=8345265330319469063;onPublishedMenu=posts;onClosedMenu=posts;postNum=18;src=postname

This final piece, has taken some research from earlier on in my testers, and also my blog. I have used a print in this image, as part of my final piece. I developed this image from my print room sessions, and also with testers 3 and 4.

I took inspiration from my autumn tree reportage sketch. At first I did not take much inspiration from any of the digital artists that I researched, however, after my 'accident' with the fill tool, I have come to the conclusion that this final piece reminds me of some of the work that Ellie York Brooks has created, with her scratchy style. The branches in my illustration, resemble the 'scratchy' style, that can be seen in one of her images below).

In this photo below, I zoomed into the sketchy mark making lines, to make the detail of the lines that she illustrated on this piece clearer.

The branches of my digital image, mimic this style well I think.

Overview of Unit

This unit was a very intense unit, and it was my first real venture into the creation of digital art. I have not created much digital art before this, I usually tend to stick to more traditional methods due to a slight comfort zone issue, also I feel I have more control when using a traditional medium, such as pencil, or watercolours. However because of this unit, I feel much more confident with working in the digital medium.

I really enjoyed this unit. I know I will be working with the software packages I used during this unit, particularly Photoshop, which impressed me, in terms of its quality, and it's use as a multipurpose, powerful creative tool.
